Student Spotlights: Celebrating Musical Journeys at Lake Norman Music School
Hi, my name is Zyela Mallernee, I am 10 years old. My family owns a handyman company that I help with when I am not in school or playing my violin. I have five siblings, three older than me and two younger than me. I am going to Iron Station Elementary, and I am in fifth grade this year. I enjoy musicals, history, and Harry Potter.
I play the violin at Lake Norman Music School. I have the best teacher; her name is Melanie. She is nice, kind, sweet and patient. She helps me and has taught me a lot. I have been playing for the past 10 months. I started playing when I was nine. I love to play the violin because it is fun and exciting to learn new songs on it. I want to play the electric violin one day like my favorite violinist, Lindsey Sterling. I hope to be like her one day and play the violin just like her.
I have performed at one recital so far; last spring and I had the amazing opportunity to play the Lake Norman Music School Rocks Lake Norman Brewery not once but TWICE! I love to perform so this was such fun!! I will also be playing my violin during the upcoming fall recital. I cannot wait to play for everyone and see all the other students perform!
Everyone at Lake Norman Music School is super nice and I cannot wait to see what comes next.
